Q: Do I have to be present at the time of inspection?
A: No. It is in your best interest to be present at the time of the used car inspection, to be able to negotiate any findings with the seller. You do not have to be there if you so choose.
Q: How will I get my report if I cannot be present?
A: National Auto Inspectors* will e-mail, fax or regular mail you a copy of the used auto inspection report along with the inspectors comments and provide you with a number so you may personally talk with a technician should you have any further questions. Fluid Sample test results will be posted on our web site. See the VIN check box on home page.
Q: Does your inspection come with a guarantee?
A: No. National Auto Inspectors* inspections are to be used only as a tool for you to better determine the condition and value of the used auto at the time of pre-purchase inspection. Any liability is limited to the cost of the referral fee.
Q: Do you estimate the repair cost for problems found during the inspection?
A: No. National Auto Inspectors* does not do repair work so we do not estimate repair cost. This is the only way we can remain unbiased. You may also want to get more than one estimate for any repairs that maybe needed to the used car to ensure an accurate repair cost.
Q: Can you recommend any repair facilities?
A: No! Sorry, we do not make any recommendations for repair work. We take this very seriously. All National Auto Inspectors* technicians are shopped (under cover shopper) in an attempt to get them to make such suggestions, anyone caught is terminated (no more referrals) immediately. This is the only way to maintain our customers trust
Q: How long does the inspection take?
A: Used car pre-purchase inspections will vary in time depending on several factors. You can have a better idea of the time it may take by choosing a used car inspection service and calling them with your details.
Q: Do you have a refund policy?
A: National Auto Inspectors is paid based on a referral fee system. Any refund would come from the service provider. Do you have questions or problems with a service provider? Call 1-888-237-3522
Q: What happens if your inspector is unable to test-drive the vehicle?
A: National Auto Inspectors* will ask the seller to drive and we will observe as a passenger if the seller will permit. If the seller does not want to test drive the used car or let us drive the vehicle then, obviously, there is nothing more we can do. National Auto Inspectors will let you know that we were unable to test-drive the vehicle and you will have to factor that in when considering purchasing the vehicle. You should work this out before the inspection.
